teeth

My teeth are white they are not blue,
I would like to show them to you!
They used to be covered with brackets and wire,
Now straight teeth are there to admire.
My braces are off just look at my smile,
This time was definitely worthwhile!
Five years all cooped up and now they are free,
Just look at that smile on little old me.
Brace face is gone; here I am to stay,
My retainer will help keep them this way.
So thank you Babon and all the rest of you,
My teeth are white they are not blue!

Sincerely,

Dooze

Mom

The things I love most to do with my mom is:
1. Sitting with a warm blanket, a bowl of buttery popcorn and a good movie to watch! Her favorite movies I think are; Fox and the Hound, Lady and the Tramp, I Am Sam, The Notebook and most of all her eyelids! My favorite blanket is an ugly old military blanket my great-great grandmother made. My favorite popcorn bowl was a gallon white bowl given to my aunt Kristi! I think this activity best because we can snuggle up and relax!
2. Going on trips and enjoying the fun places and small towns around us. I remember going to South Dakota and enjoying all the national landmarks and then shopping in a little town. An old lady owned a coffee store and she was so sweet. We stayed there and enjoyed our coffee, played checkers and talked it was so much fun. When we went to Idaho Springs comma we stayed at the hot springs and enjoyed the hot caves and warm water. I think my favorite part was swimming under the banana trees! The hotel was really dirty, but the springs were fun!
3. Having a pamper day and enjoying; manicures, pedicures, massage and facials.
4. I loved doing this for my mom, we would scrub our faces and I would give her a nice, but very short massage! I think why I liked was I felt like a real massage therapist!
5. Going hiking all over, skiing, enjoying snow days and relaxing in the sunshine.
We go hiking all over, but my favorite spot is up at our cabin on a rock where you can see all of the lake! Skiing and enjoying snow days includes; fun days up in the mountains, making caves in the blizzard, sledding down different slopes, going tubing and most of all drinking hot cocoa or cider and sitting near the fireplace! Relaxing in the sunshine includes; warm days lying in the sun and getting tans, sitting in a hammock and relaxing with a cozy book or getting active in the water or just walking around.

I love my mom and appreciate all she does for me!

Excuse for being late!

Oh please for give me I am late,
My sister made me sit until we ate.
Her car was broken, my shoes were torn,
I walked here barefoot; see here’s the thorn.
I got my jacket caught on a tree,
The threads just would not pull free.
Then I had to sit and pee,
A bush was all that I could see.
I got lost on my way here,
The directions I got were not very clear.
A river was in a ravine,
I got soaked jumping in between.
I forgot my wallet and had to go back,
Then I sat on a tack.
My sister’s car started to run,
We jumped in and dropped of a nun.
I then found the office and here I am,
Heights office building set for the job, wait why does that sign say, ‘Honey Ham?’

Diary of a Dog

March 3, 2009
Today was a pleasant day; I woke up in momma’s bed. I watched her sit on my water dish and wipe chocolate off her rear. Chocolate makes me sick though, so I walked away.
Then I watched papa make pancakes, I sat there and a funny thing behind me waved to him, every time I got excited! The stupid thing has been wagging and waving, ever since I was born, it feels like!
Then I yelped at a funny looking man, he didn’t look like my papa he had no fur on his head and he was bent over a stick! I was so excited to fetch the stick, I yelped and yelped, but momma just told me to “Shut Up!” Whatever that means?
So I sat by the window and then papa took me for a nice walk! I felt so refreshed after loosing ten pounds!
Then I went in after working hard on my walk, in and out the door, and I laid down. I felt like I had slept all day when…
My heart started racing! My favorite pals were here. I howled hello, then their momma told me, “ Oh, Just Shut up Muffin.” Whatever that means? When I heard my name though, I quietly walked over to my pals for rubbing! It was so nice they rubbed my tummy, talked to me and played with my paws. I was so happy!
Then they ate papa’s pancakes, the spiked fur pal, he slipped me a little piece from under the table! It was tasty mmm.
We went for another walk, but this time I didn’t go potty, I just watched funny looking ladies and their silly, flowery fur cross the street! There is one lady though who we went to see, she sat at a large table!
Every time we see her, after passing through the big doors, I get a treat! Then another funny lady, who I know, but not well rubbed my tummy and talked to papa! Oh I love this place; I am the queen of attention!
Those pals of mine, their momma, my papa and my momma all ate food again! The best part was they talked to me and gave me a treat! Oh, they are so nice! They eat funny though, they used their paws instead of their mouths, first, and it looked like a couple things I drop here and there, on my walks! Anyway they ate and then everyone left and I was alone! I slept for a while, yelped at a passing dog on wheels! He was GINORMOUS I am now very sleepy. Bark to you soon! Zzzzzzzzzz Muffin

The Land of Dreams

My feet sank in the hot sand, as I walked without a care. The tiny crystals drizzled through my toes, relieving my bare skin. A gentle spray curled around my warm, tan legs. A cool mist covered the shoreline in a white cloud. Warm breezes fanned my long brown hair. The piercing sunshine bestowed its rays on my tender skin and the wind gave a warm wave of indulgence as I walked, upon the sand crested beach. In the sky not a cloud laid hand on the powerful sun. The golden light reflected in the teal waters! All was silent, but the sound of waves, rushing to cover the sandy bank. The horizon lay hidden by bushy hills and cliffs of mosses and ivy. The only rate of life upon these grand features was a shimmering waterfall. The waterfall shed colors to reveal its welcome upon the teal body, entering with an effortless splash of subdue! An aroma of coconut and mist was sensational as I basked under the large leaves of Palm. My heart was embarked upon the quiet spot of indulgence. I sunk my feet in the cool water, sinking the feeling and relief in my soul! A mossy rock on the bed, lay as a pillow to my bare feet. The clear salty water, that’s fragrance drugged me with a feeling of relief and comfort, overwhelmed me! I was alone, unafraid and in love. In love with the land that was more of a dream, in love with the place that provided self-esteem and in love with all that gave this place such meaning. My blooded rushed, as I lay drenched in clement waters, drifting far from shore without a care as to where I was going. A gaudy array of fish and coral were all a part of the miraculous scene that sat beneath the timid waters! I rested on the cliff seen from the shore as only a little hill with a water stream. The falling spray ran down my body and it was so profound, I felt of nothing. My body seemed so spiritless in this array of gods wonder that I could only feel of the wind or a cloud. Not a life of remembrance to such fine place. If only I knew this was not the end! I swam with current to shore and sat on the cool bank watching the golden life set to rest, with a farewell that brought such amenity to the nightfall. Sparkling light twinkled in the dusky sky to show a sense of tranquility to the breathtaking glory that now lay at rest! A land of amazement and skepticism!

AAAAAHHHHHHHHHH

A quick jump into thin air,
Lives passing in an unstoppable fall.
Heartbeats sink in as the air rushes around you.
Then a final pulse grasps the string in a pull to safety.
Swinging through the air, time stops in a bank of silence.
Pulling through clouds and fast breezes.
Softly brushing over treetops and structures.
Flying like a bird, guided only by the wind.
Free from all on land, incapable of changes drawn by nature.
Helpless, but free as if in a trance.
Then a quick sweep on to dry ground,
Calms the heart and changes the mindset.
Back on normal, still ground.

Change

Overwhelmed is Change.
Overwhelmed is what you feel, when you get higher in a job.
Overwhelmed is what you feel, when your kids grow up to fast.
Overwhelmed is what you get with Change.
Depression is Change.
Depression is what you feel, when you have to take care of a family alone.
Depression is what you feel, when you start to lose all you have worked for.
Depression is Change.
Happiness is Change.
Happiness is what you feel, when you are able to get a new house.
Happiness is what you feel, when you decide to marry your true love.
Happiness is Change.
Loved is Change.
Loved is what you feel, when holding your new baby.
Loved is what you feel, when you and your spouse hold each other through all the years.
Loved is Change.
Change.

Red is cheeks of wonder.
Red is a heart full of love.
Red is wild and fresh.

Fire

A hot storm,
Making all turn warm.
A sudden spark and a flash,
Can leave everything as ash.
The mighty strength conduced by wind,
But the powerful smoke is the way it begins!
Silent yet deadly it travels so far,
The golden flame shines like a star!
Beware of its power for it can start quick,
Just from the flame of a candle stick!

You Are Never a failure!

As a child you are told to go after whatever you dream of.
You may want to be a Princess or a professional football player.
You have self-confidence that no other person will be better at that job than you.
You feel good!
Than you try out for a football team and you sit on the bench 90% of the time.
Or you try to be a princess and you find out you have to be a royal family member.
You have failed. You are a Failure.

You just made quarterback of the greatest team and are in the Super bowl.
You just were pronounced CEO of the magazine “Poise.”
You feel good.
Then your team is counting on you to throw the touchdown when you trip, you lose the game.
Or you don’t fill the complete quota because a marketer just canceled.
You have failed. You are a failure.

You are a parent and have done everything in your power to raise your daughter well.
Or you are a child who’s head of the class, Teachers Pet.
You feel good.
Then you have her boyfriend over and are astonished by her choice.
Or you have a test that you studied for and forgot all about your science homework.
You have failed. You are a Failure.

This is how many people feel, a failure in all times of life. If you can remember, as a child hearing, go after whatever you dream of. Maybe you feel you have failed at that dream, but that isn’t all the saying tells you. The saying tells you to keep your head high and not to give up. A failure at one thing isn’t a failure at everything. Keep trying!

Out the Window

The light pierced,
Through the hazy fog.
Then all grew dark!
A rumble shook the house still.
Piercing shouts cried in the prairie,
Shadows crept closer.
An orange glow gleamed in the brush.
The light flashed again and again,
The rumble shook the floorboards.
Clutched to the floor,
Her legs trembled.
The shadows crept closer and closer.
The glow flashed through her window.
Her heart pounced, her breath weakened.
Then her body lay limp, as she watched the fire come closer to her home.
A shadow, in the glare of the window, thrust her limp body to his chest.
Her scream was silenced by the stable figure.
Rushing out the home into the brush and smoke they ran!
Looking back a horrid laugh and dreaded glow thrust upon her home.
She saw her fathers figure watching his daughters eyes fill with tears,
He ran her to safety in the darkness,
Calming her heart with a soothing voice!
She came to a warm cottage where she looked out the window!
The Civil War wasn’t over!

LOST!

I was definitely lost. My mind was flooded, my throat was dry, I started to sweat, I couldn’t think. I wasn’t in Egypt or on a major search for treasure, I was in 10th grade algebra. I was LOST!
My teacher was at the front going on about how with each point is a new distance. She was saying something about radicals, or was that relish. No relish, why would she be talking about relish, ooh now I’m hungry. Mmmm a warm hot dog covered in relish. Yes that would be good. Wait get back to the subject, oh darn she erased it. Wait m=5x+ square root of 63. Is this part of the problem, why is Lucinda looking at me? Can she tell I am out of it? Oh, Jeremiah is waving his hair, he is so cute, and Brandi is glaring at him, if only I were Brandi. Dating the star quarterback. Oh look at him he is flexing his muscles; oh I just want to give them a tight squeeze, as I wrap my arms around him.
“Emily, EEEEEEEEEMMMILY!” croaked Ms. Evans. “Yes Ms. I am sorry, what were you asking?” The room filled with laughter! Jeremiah almost choked on his own spit he was laughing so hard! :”I was asking if you would please come to the front and solve this problem?” “Yes Ms. I am truly sorry!” I almost threw up as I stumbled down the desks to the front of the class 62y= square root of 85 –102x +b I quickly wrote: This problem is against my religious belief; therefore I cannot solve this problem. Just as I finished, I threw the chalk down and marched out the door, on account of I had to hurl, my lungs out!
The religious thing, I heard about in the classic book of Calvin and Hobbes. I left school real early that day, I was to afraid to show my face again after pulling a stunt like that, especially in front of Jeremiah. My parents, got a phone call that evening as we were eating our dinner, it was hard enough to choke down that meatloaf, besides having my parents leave the table to discuss, what was said by Principal Smith. Just as I finished my father sent me to get ready for bed, and as I walked down the stairs they both met me to discuss the matter.
The next day, I was sent directly to principal Smith’s office. The school met for an assembly in the cafeteria, where I was to announce my improper answer and the reasoning behind it. Principal Smith told me later that was all my parents, idea and he was just going to have me apologize to my teachers. Talk about a hurl Girl! I missed lunch that day, I didn’t feel to swift, but later Coralline slipped me a note in class! I got truly red, until I read it! Dear Emily, If you want a tutor on algebra, I am cheap and I will help you three hours everyday after school! I was so excited; I reached over and shook her hand. One week later, I am up at the front desk side by side with Coralline and ready to answer any questions, the teacher might ask! “ Emily EEEEEEEMMILY” “ Yes, Ms.Evans” “Are you staring at Jeremiah or the wall?” “ The wall, Ms.Evans!” Well maybe not all the questions!

Grandpa

My grandpas birthday was a couple days ago, so I dedicated this poem to him!

Grandpa you’re the greatest,
There is nothing you can’t do!
The things that we can’t you can,
Even though your 72.
Your age is not a worry,
It’s more wisdom with each day.
I hope this birthday poem.
Makes you happy in every way.
You’re charming and sweet,
Such a great person to have around!
Each moment with you is better,
I have always found!
Don’t take this day to hard,
Just look at it like this.
With each year that your older,
Adds more to your greatness!

You’re Truly Special To Me
You’ve loved your kids and grandkids, too;
Your heart is so tender and kind.
I remember the time you used to say you knew a monkey,” It is you!”
I also remember sitting on a tractor and think it would drive off with me behind!
Your unselfish heart and the joy in your eyes,
Makes me realize how truly special we are.
I love you grandpa, and hope this is a delightful surprise.
Just like that homemade cigar!
I wish you my love and for you to know,
I love you more than the world could show!

Grandfather
Take a break,
Be set at ease.
Close your ears,
To all who tease!
My memories with you,
Are truly fond!
I am so thankful,
For the time we’ve had to bond.
You are there to help,
All in need,
Your footsteps,
Are my life’s lead.
I wish you happiness,
Through the years,
Your smile and laughter,
Fill me with joyful tears!
This poem is just for you,
Happy Birthday Grandpa,
I love you!

Pies

Mama in the kitchen,
Kneading the dough.
Her face and apron full of flour,
Her hands mixing and pulling like so.
Fruit fillings being made of,
Blueberry, peach, apple and plum.
The filling covers the golden crust,
I just smell the aromas and say,” Oh yum!”
Grandpas waiting patiently for a slice!
Mama peels the layers on top, like grandma used to do!
The heat of the fire, quickly browns the coat,
After it cools we all get a bite of the delicious goo!

Full of Power

Once upon the daylight hour,
I myself sitting, full of power.
Watching all whom dream, from my tower.
Myself waiting that which cower.
As I sat there in the daylight hour.
Three visitors came; a river, a tree and a flower.
I listened and heard the dreams of each cower.
Most interesting was that of the flower.
The tree wished to be taken and dressed in flour.
And hold the delicacy that would soon be to devour.
I picked up my stick of power,
“You are the now to be a table at the bakery of Tom Hower.”
The river wished to move and spray, once a nightly hour.
I said, “You are to be a boiling shower.”
Last, but not least in that daylight hour, came the dream of the flower.
She wished to live in the home of a kind plower.
To sit in the suns rays and get a cool shower,
Yet smell baked bread in the morn covered with flour!
I said your dream has come true, “You are a sweet flower!”

Daddy Is Always Watching

Holding my dear child,
Close to my chest,
We’re holding strong to her hand,
As she takes her first steps.
Her first day of Kindergarten,
Such a day for her.
Though papa cried,
He’ll be all right.
My baby’s growing up,
Daddy’s watching HER.
Oh baby girl!
Its 2:30 in the morning,
She just got home,
Her hair is pink,
Don’t know where she’ll roam!
Teaching her to drive,
Trying to stay calm.
My baby’s growing up,
Daddy’s watching HER.
Oh baby girl!
She just graduated,
Threw up her hat.
She’s moving on,
To find a home to own.
Our hearts are aching, as she kisses us good-bye,
Our bird just left the nest and is learning to fly.
My baby’s growing up,
Daddy’s watching HER.
Oh baby girl!
Walking down the aisle holding hand in hand,
Her dress gleaming walks to her man.
Two boys and a baby girl,
Her house getting full.
Taking in a new job,
Her husbands leaving town.
My baby’s growing up,
Daddy’s watching HER.
Oh baby girl!
Hoped to hold her once more,
Before I shut my eyes.
Life is a highway don’t know where it ends,
The golden arches are opening again.
Its time for me to go, to rest away,
It’s okay!
My baby’s growing up,
Daddy’s still watching HER.
Oh baby girl!
Keep your head up high,
Bloom up with your eyes open.
Live your life happily,
Before it fades away!
Take new roads,
Live up to all your dreams,
My baby’s growing up,
Daddy’s still watching HER.
Oh baby girl!

The Wind

I was inside the bushes,
I was inside the trees.
I blew beside the houses,
I swayed in the alleys.
My body was following,
Though no one seems to see!
I am everywhere you strive to be,
I come in cool and go out hot,
I am each breath and cool breeze,
Inside the body or a pot.
Night and Day you live with me,
But never seem to see.
Tree leaves twisting,
Prairies curling.
Hot steam,
Tornadoes whirling.
I shake and move what you can see,
But only look at them not me!
Don’t waste my breaths,
Don’t waste the air.
I am inside you,
I am everywhere!
So take the time to see my actions,
Prove to me you really care!

Mother Nature

Lightning strikes throughout her hair,

She decorated the Earth that we share.

Her emotions flood all over town,

Disasters occur if she doesn’t calm down.

When her tears fall, we feel the rain.

Our souls are taken through all of her pain.

Tornadoes, lightning, mud slides and hail,

Powerful storms formed by each powerful wail.

When she’s happy and calm,

The sun brightly shines from her left palm.

Rainbows and stars line her chest,

Then birds sing their songs as they fly from the nest!

When she is calm and at rest,

Her nature land is at its best.

We feel settle and happy too,

To be able to share her miraculous view!

Cat's got Your tongue!

Cats Got Your Tongue

“Oh Beatrice, I need to talk to you!”
“What’s wrong dear Sylvia?
“Why are you so sad?”
“ Margaret has died, the poor thing.”
“Oh how did this happen?”
“ She died from suffocation, her lung was clogged!”
“ Oh, the poor dear, how old was she?”
“She was 75 years old.”
“ My, I am so sorry.”
“ Yah, yesterday, Frank buried her in the front lawn!”
“ I know you are in rough times, but don’t you think you should have a burial like cremation or coffin wise?”
“ Well Frank said, he would have just thrown her in the trash, and that I should be proud he even dug her a hole!”
“ My what nerve he has to treat her like that.”
“ Everyone can see how much she meant to you.”
“ Well thank you for the tea Beatrice, I am off to the pet store to go get a cat!”
“ Oh how come?”
“ I just said Margaret died, I would like another cat to have as a companion!”
“ Ah yes, your cat Margaret!”
“ What a pity, now the poor dear won’t come poop in my yard everyday”
“ I am truly going to miss her!”
“ Ah well, thank you for your sympathy!”
“ But, I just wanted to tell you that Frank had buried our cat in your yard!”
“Oh why?”
“Well you were the only one who had pretty flowers to put over her grave!”
“ I see, so you picked the flowers and put them over her grave?”
“ No, Frank just wrapped them around her legs,
see there sticking out of that pile of dirt in your front window!”
“ Oh my!”
“ Well have a fine day, good-bye Beatrice!”
“Bye”
Next day:
“Beatrice, what are you doing with that trash can?”
“ Oh, just pulling some weeds my dear!”
“But, Margaret’s grave it’s gone”
“ Oh, my I thought that was a big weed, the poor fellow! Why when I picked her up she was just a pile of sticks!”
“Ohhhh…”
“ Well don’t worry, she has left to a better place!”
“ Yes, heaven, god has taken good care of her!”
“Well I meant she can now chomp down on all sorts of mice at the landfill, but that works too! Well good-bye!”
“Bye….

As God is My Witness....

Alfred bishop was a 27yr. old man with Attention Deficit Disorder. Unlike most people, Alfred loves to watch old movies and can remember every line. Alfred lives in the Peace and Love shelter in Wyatt Oklahoma.
Jacqueline Morris is a 23 yr. old college graduate, who just was given a job at the shelter. Her job is to take patients on drives and adapt them to new things.
Today was Jacqueline’s first day on the job, she was driving down the dirt rode in her 1972 Buick GS 350 Convertible. She was now singing to I’m Bringing Sexy Back, while she pulled in the shelter’s driveway. A sudden smack hit the car, Jacqueline ran out of the vehicle screaming, “Oh My God”. The man got up and started lecturing her on watching the road, Jacqueline was furious. She marched the man into the Patrol office of the Shelter. Jacqueline was just about ready to scream when her boss Margie walked out the door. Margie looked suddenly and said, “Oh, good you met Alfred, I want you to take him out for the day, but make sure he is back by 8pm.” Jacqueline huffed as she marched Alfred back out the door.
Alfred got into the convertible, Jacqueline said, “Gees, I never thought I would be driving a guy somewhere, who just got hit by my car. That is besides the hospital!” Alfred just yelled, ““My momma always said life was like a box of chocolates…you never know what you're gonna get.” “Forest Gump played by Tom Hanks!” Jacqueline uncertain of what he meant continued down the road.
Alfred sat and hummed, whistled, snapped, and all other things that would annoy a driver. Jacqueline tried to ignore him, but just as they passed some road kill, Alfred frantically asked, “ Is your clock broke?” Jacqueline tried to figure out what he meant, but just shyly said, “No, Its 2:15” Alfred mumbled and then answered, “Either he's dead, or my watch has stopped. A day at the races” Jacqueline tried to figure out the meaning of these peculiar phrases when he started crying like a two yr. old. “ He’s Dead isn’t he, I could have died, but that critter did die, didn’t he!” Jacqueline could barely understand him beside his moaning cry.
“Okay Alfred,” Jacqueline said calmly. “ Do you want me to call and tell them I am bringing you back?” Alfred looked up, “ Um yah, yah, um yah, E. T phone home, yah, E.T phone home!” “ Okay,” Jacqueline pulled over to a nearby phone station and called the shelter.
Jacqueline came back outside to the car where she left Alfred and he was gone. Jacqueline ran down the street and found Alfred looking at the street lights that said ‘DO NOT WALK.’ “ Alfred,” Jacqueline grabbed him just as he yelled, “May the force be with you.” “ Okay Alfred its raining now and we need to get into the car to go home so come on.” Jacqueline said as she pushed him in the right direction. By the time they reached the car both of them were wet. Alfred jumped in and said, “Let's get out of these wet clothes and into a dry Martini.”” Said in Every Day's a Holiday, spoken by Mae West.” “ I Love that movie,” Jacqueline exclaimed. “ Do you watch it often?” Alfred proudly looked into her eyes and said, “ Yah, Saturday Night Fever!” Jacqueline just laughed and drove back down the way to the shelter.
“Fasten your seat-belts, it's going to be a bumpy night. All About Eve.” Alfred laughed. “Would you like me to give you a towel or dry shirt?” Jacqueline asked. “Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn." “Clarke gable in Gone with The wind.” That was my mothers all time Favorite movie, how many movies do you know” Jacqueline resumed in a fair conversation.” Oh, I love movies um a whole lot of them, yah.” Alfred said in immediate attention.
After a long trip of laughs and memories, Jacqueline pulled into the shelter and said, “I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship." Alfred smiled and walked in the door hand in hand with her. “There's no place like home!"
Margie walked up to them and said, “Well now tomorrow, Alfred you will get another chance to go with Jacqueline, so hurry up to your room and get a good rest.” Alfred walked up to her and then looked back and said, “After all, tomorrow is another day!"
From that point forward, Jacqueline drove Alfred wherever he wanted to go everyday for 26yrs straight. At the age of 53, Alfred passed away and on his grave are the words, “ Every time a bell rings an angel gets its wings” upon the marker is a little bell that chimes in the wind! Just as he said many times, ‘ may the forces be with you!’

I Only Like That!

I only like what I like,
Anything else, give to mike.
I like donuts and ice cream
Give me broccoli and I will scream.
Chicken nuggets or Mac and cheese,
I like these foods pass them here please.
I do want a brussel sprout,
Place it on my plate and I will pout!
Mangoes and oranges may be sweet,
But they are not my kind of treat.
Milk or water do not please,
But crystal punch will set me at ease.
Wait…
This is ALL I get to eat,
If I eat it, I get a TREAT!
Ok, chomp, yum, mmm..
Hey this is a new thing that I like,Here take a bite!

A Tradgedy Unlike Any Other

August 3, 1982,

I was working as a ranger down in Witherheimer Ridge, my buddy mark Kingsford was working on the weather and storm radar when we got an alert that there was an avalanche, piling up. The heavy winds and over occurring precipitation was causing a 3ft. slope at 20ft. south, 5600ft. elevation. I sent my men up to comfort the situation, but it was to late.
Six men were caught in the storm three rangers, one snowboarder and two skiers. The wind change caused a large gust to hit the slope and change direction to 12 ft. south of the station 5580ft. elevation. The storm was heading directly toward my station at 80mph. I didn’t have too much time to react. My reaction was to build a fort type structure that would convey myself to fall above the storm while it took the rest of the rubbish. With me was Park ranger Smith and my friend Karen. Smith grabbed hold of me and pushed me to the ground. He yelled, “ What are you thinking, work with us, don’t slack off.” I was unsure what to do, but I stayed calm. The station was exactly at 3400 foot. Elevation. We had seconds to work. My heart was racing the silence was unbearable.
We grabbed our safety kit and pagers and leaped out the station to our snowmobile. Heading 40degs. North we missed the storm by seconds…we thought. The occurring storm hit a slope and caused another heavy winded avalanche to go straight at us! Unlike the last one, no one had time to give out an alert. The avalanche was roaring down at 105 mph. Ranger Smith had buckled us up together when we left the station in case one got tagged in the storm, but now what?
A train like sound rushed through the pines, like an asteroid breaking a hole into the Earth’s surface. Somehow we all launched ourselves around a large tree and held on for dear life. I looked up and saw the storm racing after me and then all went black.
I woke up in the hospital and to my relief my partners were both still alive. The six men who were caught had a different tale. Three men, two rangers and a skier survived. The snowboarder later passed from hypothermia and the last park ranger got caught in the snow trying, to push his partner out!
We survived by working hard, keeping calm and letting god do his job. The avalanche crushed the tree we were on, but a sudden motion threw us to the top of the powder that was left behind. I thank my partners for working with me to save my life in such a tragedy, without them I would be dead! So, today I am honoring ranger smith this Medal of Honor for his courageous stride to keep us together and on top of things. He may not be much of a hero to most. Actually most are probably angry with him because he is the one they pay at the park office, but he’s my hero and he deserves something.
In memory of John Michaels (Ranger) and Hope Redd (Snowboarder).
God bless your families, throughout the rest of their lives!

I Have Pride, Because I Am Faith

God has made me who I am,
He gave me a home where I can stand tall!
I have special needs known only to few,
But it doesn't hold me back, because I am strong!
My love and nurture is seen by all,
Because I was given the same respect and never was given up on!
Courage was my first hop,
Today I can run or walk.
I was given life through faith,
My life is a miracle and I can prove it was worth all the effort, everyday!
In ways it may be more difficult,
But I can still overcome all achievements.
I am determined to show the world a new way of life,
To represent how everything can be achieved.
With just a pinch of Faith,
And a whole lot of Pride!

The Dolphin Angel

The body lies calm as I trickle my fingers down his spine,
Wet, slick skin slides through my touch.
A powerful tail wisps spray at me,
As if asking to play.
Caress movements of the nose,
Brushed my lips with a wet kiss.
I laughed and he giggled,
Unveiling a dance of excitement in the waters.
The smell of salty mist flourished me,
I held tight to the large fin and skipped, down the current.
Below us an unforgettable array of fish,
Bowed to our arrival with light waves of their tails.
The body so close gleamed in the teal waters,
Just like a blue angel that stunned the sea.
Spinning in slight circles,
My body lie drowned moment.
The creature so profound,
Was easing me into a magical world of solitude.
The sun lay at rest with colorful shadows,
Guiding our way home.
I lay quivering unknown of the love that was shared,
A figure of magnificence bade me farewell.
The next day as the tide sprayed upon shore,
My eyes were welcomed to the elaborate life.
Waiting for his friend, to take a ride with him once more!

Old Tap Shoes In Their View

The day had come for me to reside,
I even had my laces tied.
I thought this meant a brilliant thing,
Of reliving my dream and showing off my wing.
Instead I found a shallow box,
That felt just like a bed of rocks.
I sat there desperate to cry,
My taps were worn, but still wished to fly!
I was replaced with a newer design,
I wasn’t even given a sign.
My filaps used to flip,
My shuffles could skip.
Now I was to lie,
Without a shade of good-bye.
I still had it in me; my soles were not worn,
But out with old and in with the newborn.
Dust covered my color; wind blew through my holes,
But I could still do it better from taps to soles!
My body looked old, but my tap was still young,
I was a comforting fit and I still held my tongue.
Inside me I felt that no matter how late,
My body could tap at an excelling rate.
Then at the moment I felt I could rip,
The box was pulled and slightly gave a tip.
I didn’t know what I had in view,
But I would settle to be the shoe.
My taps were ticking my tongue was licking,
I was ready for some tip-tap kicking.
In a shop I was worked on,
With sharp pins, cold hammers, it was like a shoe salon.
Two days later I was up on the shelf,
Revealing my new self.
Pretty girl with stylish toes,
Picked me out and sniffed me with her nose.
This may seem odd,
But she smiled at my odor and said, “Oh, my god!”
She took me home to stay,And that is the reason I am here today!

A Soldier's Prayer

I Am Proud...
To be a father of My wonderful Family
To Stand With Great Hope and Health.
To Serve our Country.
I love...
Watching My Children Grow Up Strong.
Looking Out at Natures Beauty
America, My home
God Bless...
The Children of Our Future
The Land That Holds Our Homes
Our Country
The USA...
The Land of the Free
The Home of The Brave!

I Love You

This clich'e may have a meaning,
Or it may just be pretend.
People say these words a lot,
But alll is the same at the end.
Relationships may start out fresh,
Then take a drastic bend.
For all is loved that may not be loved
And your lover becomes more of a friend.
Sometimes your heart may feel the love,
It just takes its time like a trend.

I Am Going To Play

I'm going to play,

I will not stay inside today.

The sun is out, the sky is blue,

Playing is what I will do.

Running, skipping, shout hooray,

That is how I like to play.

Sitting inside is for rain or snow,

Outside is where I will go!

Swinging in the maple trees,

Running in the morning breeze.

Awaiting the moon to rise,

all lay at rest and shut their eyes.

Before we do, we shall play,

For I will not stay inside today!

I Am a Hot Air Balloon

I float in the wind, to be carried away,
I don't want to be inside all day.
I travelaround, without a care,
Not concerned of the time, or way i'll get there.
My color of emotions, all equally bright,
My mind is of changes that vary like light.
I love to find the place, of warm breeze,
I enjoy my time better, if I don't freeze.
No matter the place, No matter the time,
To travel with other, is oh so prime.
I know where I'm going, my boundaries stay close,
My basket is near by the east and west coast.
Sometimes I lay back, and let others take me,
But still I enjoy seeing all I can see.
So take me away and let me go far,
I will find my way by the land or the stars!

In Memory of Marsha November 2008

I had a friend who was loved by all who met her.
She was very talkative and always made people laugh around her.
Everyday she would race down the street followed by a storm of dust.
The dust storm was pretty much calling yep that’s Marsha she’s long gone.

Marsha was a mother of twins who loved her very much.
They always wore the most adorable clothes,
With bright smiles they’d say, “Mommy got them for us”.

When you are alive you never know how much you’re loved and cared for.
You must find the true meaning of life, Friends and family.
You must find that the true time to share is that with your family.
And most importantly you never know how fast you can be gone.

Marsha with life, health and talkative personality,
Became silenced and prisoned.
Her sickness flushed her life away,
She was silenced and taken from all who loved her.

WHY….

God found her special, he took her to the golden land.
To watch over all of us.
She is still in our hearts.
We all show our love to her and her family now.
I know how hard it is for the family to have lost such a wonderful woman.
I couldn’t imagine to lose such a great person or to lose my mom.

But when we listen hard in your soul she is still there!
Her laughs are the air that tickles the trees,
Her smile is the sunshine blooming in the windows, bringing in a new day.
Her love is the warmth that hugs you when you feel grief.
She is not gone.
She has not left.
She is there speaking to us and easing us to live our lives to the fullest.
So let her go, unforgotten.
Even though she hasn’t gone.

Grief is not bad, grief is a showing of love.
We will speak to her in prayers and speak to her in joy.
Just as we remember her speaking to us.
Let her kindness and thought bring hope and joy to our life to come.

Marsha is watching over us.
We are here to help her family with anything, just as she would do for us.
May God Bless her family in all they do.
Marsha We Miss You!
